Allergic Conjunctivitis

aPediatrik Allerji BD, Zonguldak Karaelmas Üniversitesi, ZONGULDAK The conjunctiva is the most immunologically active tissue of the external eye, and allergic conjunctivitis is the most common ocular allergic disease. The main clinical symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis include tearing, irritation, stinging, swelling, hyperemia and itching, which is the hallmark of the disease. Although variying clinical classifications exist, the ailment has generally been devided into 6 different subgroups: seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, perennial allergic conjunctivitis, vernal keratoconjunctivitis, atopic keratoconjunctivitis, contact conjunctivitis (KK), and giant papillary conjunctivitis (DPK).
