Premenstruel Syndrome Among University Students

This study was carried out on 406 female student in Marmara University, Vocational School of Health Services and Nursing School. In this cross-sectional study premenstrual syndrome rate was found to be 17.2%.
The association between premenstrual syndrome with family history and dysmenorrhea were found to be significant whereas the associations with the age at menarche and regularity of cyclus were not significant.
The ratio of those who visited health centers to those who did not among girls with premenstrual syndrome was found 17.2%, but it was 6.2% among those without syndrome. This difference was found statistically significant.
