Adoptive Immunotherapy

Adoptive immunotherapy is defined as the infusion of immune effector cells for the treatment and/or prevention of disease. Lymphokine activated killer cells (LAK), tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL), donor lymphocytes and spesific peripheral T lymphocytes are used for this aim. For relapses after therapeature approach have been used an experimental therapy for some kind of methastatic solid tumors, bone marrow and peripheral stem cell transplantation, latent viral infection, and AIDS. In the future, spesifik memory cells produced by DNA engineering would be used in adoptif immunotherapy.
