Thrombocytopenia Associated With Hepatitis A

Thrombocytopenia may occur in childhood during or after some viral infections such as measles, rubella, and mumps. On the other hand thrombocytopenia has been reported during the course of viral hepatitis especially in hepatitis B infection. In literature any thrombocytopenia has not been reported associated with serologically documented hepatitis A virus infection during childhood. In this paper a case of thrombocytopenia with hepatitis A infection is reported and relevant literature is reviewed.
