The Treatment Of Pilonidal Sinus With Advanced Flap Dissection

The cause of pilonidal sinus is hair insertion and recurrence is a serious problem in the treatment of the disease. The prevention of recurrence can be possible precisely by stopping the hair insertion. Although the operations flattened the natal cleft and forming the incision scar at the lateral side of the midline is an easy and simple operation. The incision scar is accepted an important causative factor of the recurrence. 43 patients were treated by this method, morbidity rate was 4.7% and during follow up period (10-26 months) recurrence was not seen).
