Serum And Urinary Beta 2 Microglobulin Levels In Henoch-schonlein Purpura

Twenty children, aged 4-13 years, with Henoch-Schonlein Purpura and ten healthy children were included in this study. Nine (45%) patients had renal involvement. In five (55.5%) of them, urinary Beta 2 Microglobulin (B2M) values were higher than normal. No statistical difference in serum and urinary levels between control group and patients with Henoch-Schonlein Purpura and between control and patients without renal involvement were detected (p>0.05). There were important differences between control group and patients with renal involvement and between patients with and without renal involvement (p<0.05). No statistical difference was detected in mean serum Beta 2 Microglobulin value of patients with renal involvement and control group (p>0.05).
