Homogeneously Staining Regions In Mammary Carcinomaa Case Report

A fifty-eight years old female with axillary lymph node metastasis has been diagnosed as Stage IIIb invasive ductal breast carcinoma after mastectomy. Cytogenetic analysis were performed from peripheral blood of this patient in terminal stage. In 2 of 50 analysed metaphase plates homogeneously stained region (HSR) chromosomes were determined.
HSRs are oncogenic amplication region and stained homogenously on some chromosome. Howewer, in this case, HSRs were found as a metacentric extrachromosome, bigger than chromosome one.
