Diastolic Dysfunction Of The Heart

In the past, heart failure was used as synonym of systolic dysfunction. Recently, another type of cardiac dysfunction, which is relatively infrequent and requires different therapeutic approaches, became popular: diastolic dysfunction and backward heart failure.
In this study, we try to present diastolic properties of heart as well as clinical importance, diagnostic modalities and principal therapeutic approaches of diastolic dysfunction.
