Combined Tracheal Sleeve Pneumonectomy, Superior Vena Cavaresection And Reconstruction Due To The Lung Cancer: A Case Report

For non-small cell lung carcinomas, the most reliable method of treatment has been shown to be surgical resection. T4-N0, T4-N1 tumors are readily surgically excised and encouraging results have been achieved in selected cases.
A 52 year-old male patient presenting with T4-N0 non-small cell lung carcinoma with mediastinal invasion appeared for operative therapy. Total vena cava superior resection, reconstruction, tracheal sleeve pneumonectomy and mediastinal lymph node dissection were performed.
In selected cases of stage III-B, surgical treatment may be a viable modality.
