Childhood Meningioma

Intracranial meningiomas are commonly a classified as a group of adulthood diseases. These tumors, which are most often seen in women have usually benign histopathologics characters. However, they display different charactarestics in the pediatric age group. Childhood meningiomas differ in sex predilection when compared to adults. They show a higher tendency for malignency and differ in localization. In this article, a fourteen year-old male, operated with the diagnosis of intracranial meningioma is presented, and pediatric age group meningiomas’ characteristics are analyzed as well.Keywords: Meningioma, pediatric malignencyTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Sci 2004, 24:182-184
