Prostatic Adenocarcinoma And Ectopic Adrenocorticotropic Hormone Syndrome: Case Report

A 70 years old man with a 3-month diagnosis of prostate adenocarcinoma was admitted to the hospital due to proximal muscle weakness, fatigue, polyuria and polydipsia. Evaluation of the patient with history, physical examination, and laboratory tests, a presumptive diagnosis of ectopic ACTH syndrome was made. The diagnosis was confirmed by screening and dynamic tests. The prostate biopsy specimens were re-evaluated to detect the cause of the ACTH secretion and ACTH immunohistochemical staining of preparations were positive.
