The Innervation Pattern Of Terminal Branches Of Posterior Interosseous Nerve; An Anatomical Research

Purpose: The aim of this article is to investigate the terminal branches of PIN.
Material and Method: Terminal branches of posterior inter-osseous nerve was examined in15 cadavers as morpho-metric and morphological.
Results: After leaving the supinator muscle, PIN has specific innervations pattern as superficial short recurrent branches and deep long branch.
Conclusion: According to results of this research, lesions of PIN may be partial or total. Among the different treat-ment procedures such as primary or secondary neurora-phy, or neuratization, anatomical characteristics of PIN should be considered.Keywords: Peripheral NervesTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Sci 2003, 23:459-463
