Prolactinoma And Pregnancy: Medical Management Of A Case With Pituitary Macroadenoma

Current medical therapies have made pregnancy possible for women harboring prolactinomas. The purpose of this report is to present a macroprolactinoma-patient, who responded to medical therapy well and conceived successfully.
In a 23-year-old woman, who had macroprolactinoma, tumor was shrunk by dopamine agonist therapy into sellar boundaries in 8 months and she became pregnant. She was followed-up during the gestational period until delivery without any problem.
With multi-disciplinary approach and using appropriate medical therapy, pregnancy may be achieved in women harboring macroprolactinomas and they can give birth to healthy babies.Keywords: Therapy, pregnancy, prolactinomaTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Sci 2006, 26:104-106
