The Long-term Outcomes Of Ureteral Stent Applicationin Patients To Whom Cross-trigonal Ureteroneocystostomywas Performed

We investigated the effects of ureteral stent application in the postoperative period on 73 ureters of 42 patients who underwent crosstrigonal ureteroneocystostomy between 1991-2000.During the operation we performed ureterostomy procedure to 19 ureters of 10 patients, double-j ureteral stent application to 30 ureters of 19 patients and no stent in 24 ureters of 13 patients. Urethral stent and Retzius drain were applied to all patients.We did not observe any significant difference between three groups by the parameters of drain removal time and duration of hospitalization but postoperative care standarts were better in no-stent group.
