The necessity of embryology laboratories increased in association with gynecology units since IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) cliniques have been established. The embryologist is responsible for the correct and justified application of IVF Techniques in these laboratories.The implemention of a quality control system beside the success of procedures in embryology laboratories mostly depends on every employee’s participation and cooperation.Infertility cliniques offer collaboration between staff. The success of IVF laboratories directly affected by employees. In the future, the IVF laboratories which will provide successful pregnancy outcome and scientific improvement will be the one’s working with well trained and experienced staff.The minimal requirements for any IVF laboratory which includes staffing and direction, laboratory procedures, laboratory safety and identification of patients have been evaluated.Keywords: Fertilization in Vitro, embryologyTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Sci 2002, 22:612-615
