Pyoderma Gangrenosum Localized On The Breast

Pyoderma gangrenosum is a rare, destructive inflammatory disorder characterized by painful, rapidly enlarging, necrotic ulcers. The typical predilection site is lower limbs and its occurrence on the breast is extremely uncommon. A 55-year-old male patient with an ulcerative lesion on his left breast diagnosed as pyoderma gangrenosum and treated successfully with systemic steroids is presented. Though an uncommon predilection site, we propose that pyoderma gangrenosum should be remembered in the differential diagnosis of the rapidly enlarging ulcers localized on the breast.Keywords: Pyoderma gangrenosumTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Sci 2002, 22:521-524
