*** Doç.Dr., Fırat Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Nefroloji AD, ELAZIĞ Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD) is a rarely encountered disease and the relationship of the disease with chronic renal failure is unknown. KFD predominantly affects young women, who present with solitary or multiple cervical lymphadenopathy accompanied by symptoms such as fever, weight loss, sweating, or, in exceptional cases, hepatosplenomegaly. Laboratory findings are nonspecific. Although, a viral origin has been suggested in etiology, the exact cause has not been identified yet. The clinical evolution is favorable and there’s usually a spontaneous remission in less than 4 weeks. We present a case of a 46-year-old woman with chronic renal failure who presented with cervical lymphadenopathy. Biopsy of a lymph node revealed a histopathologic picture compatible with KFD. This case was reported since KFD is rarely encountered and highly confused with lymphoma and coexistence with chronic renal failure. Keywords: Histiocytic Necrotizing Lymphadenitis, Kidney Failure, ChronicTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Sci 2002, 22:510-513
