Although a variety of nonneoplastic lesions with endophytic growth of the urothelium patterns may mimic IN on microscopic examination, IN may also sometimes be confused with a nonneoplastic proliferation. These nonneoplastic lesions are von Brunn's nests(vBN), cystitis glandularis(CG), cystitis cystica(CC) and nephrogenic adenoma(NA). In the past 2 years, we have encountered three IN of the urinary bladder which histologically have had a prominent endophytic growth pattern. The differential diagnosis was very difficult in these unusual neoplasms of the urinary bladder which in patients aged 19, 26 and 49 years. An unequivocal diagnosis could be established with immunhistochemical study of Ki-67 and high molecular weight cytokeratin(HMW-Cyt) in addition to histopathologic findings in these neoplasms. Keywords: Bladder, Neoplasms, Diagnosis, Differential, ImmunohistochemistryTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Sci 2002, 22:67-72
