Pneumatosis Cystoides Intestinalis: A Case Report

Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI) is a rarely observed disorder. It is characterized by multiple gas filled cysts within the bowel wall. A 48-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with nausea, vomiting, weight loss, abdominal discomfort and distension. A direct radiography showed multiple, small, air cysts in the wall of the ileum. The patient was operated and pylor stenosis was detected. In histopathologic examination, the disease was diagnosed as PCI.
