The Investigation Of Relationship Between The Thickness Of Myocardial Bridge And Coronary Artery In Human, Dog ,sheep And Goat

The purpose of this study is to investigate of relationship between thickness of myocardial bridge (MB) and coronary artery (CA). The clarify of this relationship can be aid to understanding to behavior of myocardial bridges to us.A total 67 hearts were studied. The hearts belonged to 7 humans, 20 dogs, 20 sheeps and 20 goats.Myocardial bridge that belonged to 13 human, 63 dog, 31 sheep and 21 goat out of 128 were found in 47 hearts out of 67 (70.1%).The thickness of myocardial bridges were varied from 0.07 mm to 1.7 mm while the thickness of coronary arteries were varied from 0.023 to 0.345 mm.As a result, the relationship between the thickness of myocardial bridge and coronary arteries were not found to be statistically significant.Keywords: Myocardial bridges, Coronary artery, Thickness, Species differencesTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Sci 2002, 22:385-389
