Giant Cell Tumor Of Tendon Sheath (nodular Tenosynovitis)

Clinicopathologic findings in 9 cases of giant cell tumor of tendon sheath (GCTTS) are presented.The GCTTS were divided into two groups according to the anatomic location, the first occurring in the digits (digit groups,6 cases) and second,in the large joint (large joint groups,3 cases).The lesion was more common in women than in men. Microscopically, the GCTTS in both groups consisted of a mixture of abundant histiocyte -like,foam,and multinücleated giant cells of the osteoclast type. Occasionally,ıt may be confused with other benign and malignant soft tissue tumors. In this study,ıt was evaluated macroscopic and microscopic appearances of our cases and discussed in light of literatures.
