Determination Of The Junction Angle Of The Bilateralparts Of Corpus Mandibulae In Plane Of Lower Chin

Different changes are occures in the dimensions of mandible in both sexes during puberty. The aim of this study was to determine the junction angle of the bilateral parts of corpus mandibulae in plane of lower chin. Two hundred people (100 male, 100 female) with a balanced facial scent, and without mandible anomaly, and previous mandible surgery were included. Bi-gonial width, bi-tuberculum mentale width, gonion-tuberculum mentale distance, gonion-pogonion distance and gonion-opposite tuberculum mentale distance were measured on all subjects. By means of these measurements, both mandible length and junction angle of the bilateral parts of corpus mandibulae were obtained. Measurements of mandible and mandible length were found significantly different between male and female subjects (p<0.001). The junction angle of the bilateral parts of corpus mandibulae was not found significantly different between both sexes.
