The Results Of The Physical Therapy In The Patients Withprimary Adhesive Capsulitis

Twenty one patients with primary adhesive capsulitis, who admitted to Erciyes University Medical Faculty Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, included in the study, in order to present the results of physical therapy in our patients with primary adhesive capsulitis. At the beginning and end of the physical therapy lasting three weeks, visual analogue scale and range of motion of the patients shoulder were evaluated and compared statistically. Hot-pack, ultrasound, analgesic modality and exercise were applied to the patients as physical therapy programme.
Statistically significant improvement was found in the parameters of range of motion before and after treatment. When we compared the pain before and after treatment, significant improvement was also found.
As a result, it was seen that physical therapy was an available method for improvement of the pain and limitation of motion in primary adhesive capsulitis.Keywords: Adhesive capsulitis, Physical therapy, ExerciseTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Sci 1999, 19:337-340
