*Dr., Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Genel Cerrahi AD, ANKARA The importance of the duplex ultrasonography and impedance plethysmography for the diagnosis of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) were investigated. The tests were performed in 77 patients with DVT at University of Ankara, Medical School, Department of General Surgery. Patients who had different results were reevaluated by venography. Specifity and sensitivity of the D.ultrasonography was 90.9 and 94.3,respectively. Specifity and sensitivity of the I.plethysmography was 80 and 94,respectively. Because these tests are noninvasive and easily performable, they may be prefered for the diagnosis of DVT.Keywords: Deep venous thrombosis, duplex ultrasonography,
