Nitric Oxide And Its Neurophysiopathological Effects

It plays a role in many functions of human organism, and in many diseases. NO is produced by almost every cell and has effects on different cells. Therefore, it acts as a general transmitter.
While the other free oxygen-radicals are harmful in every concentration, low levels of NO plays regulatory role in many physiological processes such as blood pressure, gastrointestinal system functions, host defence, and nonspesific immunity.
