Determination Of The In-vitro Maturation Periods Of Theoocytes In Different Phases

Oocyte-corona-cumulus complex (OCC) of totally 216 prophase I (PI) and metaphase I (MI) oocytes were obtained from 28 patients who applied to GATA IVF center. It has been researched that PI and MI oocytes could complete their in-vitro maturation's (IVM) within how many hours ideally, based on Oocyte maturation index (OMI).
It was found that the appropriate incubation time phase is 22-36 hours for PI oocytes (n=114), in the same period the rate of maturation (MII) is 65.5%, the rate of having telophase II (TII) is 33%. It was also found that the reasonable incubation time phase is 10-22 hours for MI oocytes (n=102). In the same period, it was determined that the rate of maturation (MII) is 69% and having TII is 42.3%.
It was suggested that IVM rates would be higher if reasonable incubation time phase for PI oocytes 22-36 hours and 10-22 hours for MI oocytes.Keywords: Oocyte, meiosis, In-vitro maturationTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Sci 2000, 20:295-301
