Evaluation Of The Endometrium With Brush Sampling In Women Withpostmenopausal Bleeding

In this study, 100 women with postmenopausal bleeding were evaluated using the endobrush cytologic sampler and compared with the hystological results of conventional curettage and hysterectomy. The sensitivity of cytological diagnosis of endometrial cancer and preinvasive endometrial lesions with endobrush evaluation was 79.17%, and the spesifity was 85.71%, the positive predictive value was 65.52%, whereas the negative predictive value was as high as 92.31%. We concluded that endometrial sampling by using the endobrush is a useful method in cytological detection of uterine lesions and in women with high risk of endometrial cancer.Keywords: Endobrush, Endometrium,
