A Retrospective Analysis Of 15 Cases Withxanthogranulomatous Pyelonephritis

Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis is a rare renal inflammation with an obscure etiology. In this study, fifteen cases diagnosed as xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis were reviewed with their clinic, laboratory and radiologic spesifications retrospectively. It has been concluded that preoperative diagnosis of this disease was difficult and most of the cases required nephrectomy with a nonfunctioning kidney because of late presentation.Keywords: Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis, Urinary stoneTurkiye Klinikleri J Med Sci 2001, 21:467-469
